Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUT) or ‘strip surgery’:
The procedure starts with marking of the donor area on the scalp. Tumescent anaesthesia is used alongwith the nerve blocks to anaesthetize the area. The strip is harvested and the donor wound is closed with absorbable or non-absorbable stitches. The scar is dependent on the Surgeon’s technique. Dr Ahmad’s technique of achieving minimal donor scar is published in the Hair Transplant Forum International.
